IPO Listing Day 5 October 2026: Final Close — Orient Cables Locked at Lower Circuit, Other Three End in the Red
Monday, 5 October 2026, was one of the busiest mainboard listing days of the year, with four IPOs — Orient Cables (India), German Green Steel & Power, AceVector (Snapdeal), and Runwal Enterprises — making their stock market debuts together. The final scorecard is a study in contrasts: one bumper debut that ended locked in the lower circuit, and three stocks that closed below or barely at their issue prices.
Final listing-day scorecard (NSE)
| IPO | Issue price | Open (NSE) | Day's high | Close (NSE) | Gain/loss vs issue price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Orient Cables (India) | ₹272 | ₹450 | ₹464.85 | ₹405 | +48.9% |

| AceVector (Snapdeal) | ₹32 | ₹28.32 | — | ₹25.90 | ≈ −19.1% |
| Runwal Enterprises | ₹305 | ₹305 | — | ~₹301.45 | ≈ −1.2% |
Closing prices are as reported by financial press and IPO market trackers at the end of the session.
1. Orient Cables (India): blockbuster open, lower-circuit close
Orient Cables was the star of the day. The ₹552-crore IPO — a fresh issue of ₹320 crore plus an OFS of ₹232 crore — opened on the NSE at ₹450, a 65.44% premium over its ₹272 issue price, and at ₹448.10 on the BSE (+64.74%). The stock briefly touched an intraday high of ₹464.85 before heavy selling set in.
By the close, the stock had fallen to ₹405 on the NSE and ₹403.30 on the BSE — a 10% decline that triggered the lower circuit. Investors who held through the session still ended the day 48.9% above the issue price, and the company commanded a market capitalisation of roughly ₹5,099 crore on the BSE.
The debut came after the issue was subscribed nearly 97 times, led by QIBs at 192.68x, NIIs at 121.90x and retail investors at 32.21x. A retail applicant with one lot of 55 shares (₹14,960 invested) saw that lot worth ₹22,275 at the close — a paper gain of about ₹7,315 per lot even after the sell-off.
2. German Green Steel & Power: gains fade, ends ~7.7% below issue price
German Green Steel & Power's ₹303.9-crore IPO opened modestly at ₹142 on the NSE (+2.16%) and ₹143.50 on the BSE (+3.24%) against the ₹139 issue price — roughly in line with the grey market's final implied premium of about 7%.
But the early premium did not last. The stock slipped through the session and, per IPO market trackers, closed around ₹128.33 on the NSE — roughly 7.7% below its issue price. The issue had been subscribed 28.98 times (NII 54.03x, retail 22.83x, QIB 20.93x), with ₹91.16 crore raised from anchor investors ahead of the public issue.
3. AceVector (Snapdeal): weakest debut of the day
Snapdeal's parent company made the weakest debut of the four. The ₹420-crore IPO (₹287 crore fresh issue + ₹133 crore OFS, price band ₹30–32, lot size 468 shares) opened at ₹28.32 on the NSE and ₹28.30 on the BSE — an 11.5% discount to the ₹32 issue price.
The selling continued through the day. Per Moneycontrol's closing data, the stock ended at ₹25.90 — nearly 19% below its issue price. At the listing price, allottees were already down about ₹1,730 per lot (468 shares); by the close, the paper loss per lot had widened to roughly ₹2,855. The issue had been subscribed 4.93 times overall.
4. Runwal Enterprises: flat open, marginally below issue at close
Runwal Enterprises, the Mumbai-based real estate developer, had the quietest debut. The ₹500-crore pure fresh issue opened exactly flat at ₹305 on the NSE (₹306 on the BSE, +0.33%) — the only one of the four to open at its issue price, exactly as the faded grey market had predicted.
The stock traded as low as ₹295.15 intraday on the BSE and, per IPO trackers, closed at ₹301.45 on the NSE — about 1.2% below the ₹305 issue price. The issue was subscribed about 2.5 times.
GMP vs reality: what the grey market got right and wrong
- Orient Cables: The final GMP of around ₹110 implied a ₹382 listing (+40.4%). The actual ₹450 open beat the grey market handily — but the ₹405 close landed close to what the GMP had implied.
- German Green Steel: Final GMP of ₹9.50 implied roughly a 7% premium. The ₹142 open (+2.2%) came in below expectations, and the close went further below.
- AceVector: GMP of just ₹1 implied a flat listing. Instead, it opened at an 11.5% discount — the grey market missed the direction entirely.
- Runwal: GMP had faded to a ₹5–10 discount range; the flat-to-negative close matched that read closely.
As always, GMP is unofficial, market-reported data — unregulated and subject to change — and this session shows why it should never be the sole basis for an investment decision.

Which of the four IPOs performed worst on listing day?
AceVector (Snapdeal's parent) had the weakest debut, opening at an 11.5% discount to its ₹32 issue price and closing around ₹25.90 — nearly 19% below the issue price.
Did German Green Steel close above its issue price?
No. It opened at ₹142 (+2.16%) against the ₹139 issue price but closed around ₹128.33 on the NSE, roughly 7.7% below the issue price, per IPO market trackers.
What should IPO investors watch next?
SRIT India and Shah Investor's Home list on 6 October, while Black Opal and Vans Electroengineerings list on BSE SME on 7 October. Both SRIT India and Shah Investor's Home carry strong subscription numbers (125.16x and 38.12x respectively).
Conclusion
The 5 October listing day rewarded only Orient Cables investors in a meaningful way — and even that debut was a roller coaster from a 65% premium to a lower-circuit close. For German Green Steel, AceVector and Runwal, the day ended at or below issue price, a reminder that strong subscription numbers do not guarantee listing-day profits. With SRIT India and Shah Investor's Home listing on 6 October, investors will get another test of listing-day momentum almost immediately.
